I don't know about others but I like to see a dog in a pen if I can before I hunt it. To me it gives me an idea of how a dog may be. Well today I tried out the yella gyp I got a couple weeks ago. She wasn't a super star by no means and to be honest I don't think she has ever bayed a hog before. Well I put her in a pen by herself and she showed little interest in the hog. May have just been it was a new place but she didn't go to it. After a lil bit with lil to no action I told the wife to send lady in. Lady started baying right off and Dixie got a lil turned on. She bayed some but not good. I pulled them out and waited 20 min or so and then put them in again. This time lady did the same but Dixie decided she liked it I guess. She bayed much better even getting a lil face time once. They stayed bayed pretty much solid for 4 or 5 min. Then we let the hog out the pen. That is southern hills bay pen in star city ar. They have been up and running about 8 months. They have put a good bit of effort into haveing a nice facility and good hogs. We hope to be able to one day put on events as big as some of the ones y'all have in Texas.

Them dogs looked good out there! Lady really showed a lot of interest that second time! It was a good event to go to. My first one, met a bunch of good folks. Shotgun, great guy, gave me lots of good advice and very helpful! I will be coming back!

Come on back man. Guys ARwildman is really trying to learn what he can to get into this sport.
Lady was the red dog. Dixie is the yella dog. But I agree she was starting to get it the second time. I hated I didn't run this morning. I have been tied up all day.

Wasn't bad at all. Little light but not bad. I figured I woulda seen y'all but I figure y'all was hunting. I sure woulda been if It wasn't for trying Dixie out.
