The September baying will be help on the 19th @ 8:oo A.M. and will be the first bay of the Dog Box series and $500 cash.    The Dog Box will be a stainless steel customized dog box (really nice) and is being donated by the TDHA.  The series will go from Sept. to Feb.  The highpoint winner will receive the dog box and $500 cash.  Here are the rules and how everything will work.

The highpoint award will apply to those that run in the following four events:
                       One Dog Amateur $20
                       Two Dog Amateur $30
                       One Dog Pro $30
                       Two Dog Pro $50
There will also be a calcutta and a $5 gate fee.

At this bay pen if you win twice with the same dog in an amateur event.  You must then run that dog in the pro classes.  We do this in order to make everything fair.  So during this high point series if you have a dog that wins first, twice you must then run in the pros.  However your points will carry over from the amatuer events you ran.  In other words if you score two, 10's in the amateur events and win.  You will carry over those 20 poiints into the pro classes and start accumilating more points there.  The dog with the most points at the last baying (Feb.2010) will be the high point winner.  In the event of ties there will be a 4 min. bay off for highpoint.  The winner of the bayoff will be the highpoint champion.  You must be a TDHA member to compete for the Highpoint Championship.  You cannot use any points that are accumulated prior to being a TDHA member.  If you want your points to count towards the highpoint championship then become a member prior to running your dogs.  There will be no exceptions to this!!  It only cost $25 a year to be a TDHA member and worth every penny.  If you are not a member don't worry.  There will be a TDHA booth there at the baying that can sign you up prior to running your dogs.
If anyone has any questions, please feel free to check out the website www.tntbaypen.com for bay dates and directions.  If there is anything else please feel free to contact me at home 254/746/7628 or cell 979/676/2388.
There will be concessions, BBQ, restrooms and Wild Boar USA & Ugly Dog Ranch will have the latest and best in hog dog gear available.  Hotel accomadations can be made in advance.
 Thanks,

Im not 100% positive Dexter, but im my eyes to make it fair, it will be one dogs total points! It wouldn't be fair if someone could bring 10 dogs and accumulate points to win the box. I may be wrong, but that is my .02.

okay gilbert, so what your saying is that if a dog scores two perfect 10's it will carry over to the pro class, right? Okay another question, will a dog that is not a pro dog, that runs in the amature class, be able to run in the pro class even though it is not a pro dog to accuire more points? To me it isn't fair if a dog can run in the amature and pro classes not being a pro dog, when a pro dog cannot run in the amature classes. Im just curious and was wondering if you could clarify this for me!

Thanks,

At this bay pen if you win twice with the same dog in an amateur event.  You must then run that dog in the pro classes.

Hey Ashlie you are right.  You cannot run in both the pro and amateur.  After you have won twice in the amateur you must then run in pro and acumilate the rest of your points from there.
 Thanks,

Gilbert, are the points based on placement, like 10 for first, 5 for second, etc, or are they based on actual score, like a 10 from one judge and a 9.8 from another? If that is the case, I assume only scores from the first round would count, not bay offs, and it would always be two judges? Or maybe an average of the judges?

I probably just made that waaaay more confusing than it had to be

We don't have a snowball's chance in hell at anything, unless you want to do a photo contest, but Steve and I will be there!

Hey Julie,
It will be the actual judges scores of the dogs that are tallied at the end of the deal.  In the event of a bay off for High point.  The dog that wins the bay off will win the whole shooting match.  Don't say you won't do good.  You never know there could be a lot of dogs miss a baying or two, get passed up and then are unable to catch up.  If there was  a photo contest there is no doubt you would have it won hands down Grin

Okay Gilbert, one more question. I know that we do, and a few others as well run a dog in the two dog more than once with a different dog. How will the points be counted for that dog? How will you decide on which run will be counted for the accumulation of points? Just trying to get all corners covered. I guess i just sit around and think about things too much. Im the one that has had all the questions and not Ashlie, so if you get annoyed by all the questions, its me! Sorry! Grin

Hey Spencer,
You are not bothering me at all.  Ask away!  In a case such as that the only score that will count is the high score.  The other scores will be thrown out.  You can't rack up points with one dog by running it with several dogs in the two dog.
Thanks and again, if anyone has any questions just let me know.
