he is looking good...keep posting his progress with pictures as well as training challenges you have had and what you had to do to correct them...that would be interesting...

Thanks Reuben !
I have some really good dog men helping me out with any questions and even land to train on. I helped stack 450 square hay bells yesterday evening just  as a way to say " thanks" to one of them.
My pup still  got a long road ahead of him , but I think if I just keep my mouth shut and listen to the people that already have what I want out of a dog. Then he will  get down that road a lot quicker then I could ever get him down it by myself.

I'm gradually working gun fire in as he's trying to chase quail right now. Hopefully one day I can post up a video of a hunt with him.

First time I've seen him honor another dogs point.

He's finally where I can run him off a horse . He had a set back when he put a nail sticking out a 2x4 through the webbing of his paw a while back but he's good to go now.

He pointed , flushed and chased a covey of quail Sunday afternoon that a couple other bird dogs ran right pass.

Right now the game  with him is  pointing quail and me shooting a .22 blank when they flush. his problem right now is he wants to see their eyes and he hasn't figured out yet to go on point with that first whiff of sent. It's just gonna take more wild bird finds for him to figure it out.

Thanks Mr.Corbell !
I made a lot of mistakes with my first dog and I'm now really blessed to have such good dog people willing to help me out answering questions and land to hunt.
Take care

Thought I'd post some pictures ..
I've been runnin this dog pretty hard every weekend off of horses and entering him in field trial events. He's won a couple things and got ribbons  .. I just like runnin this dog

^ he's out there somewhere ..
I wish I had more pictures of him on point, but I'm always so focused on what I'm trying to get out of him on a run that I forget to.

Y'all don't have to post anything to this .. I just thought I'd update this dogs progress

Sounds to me your doing something right, also it's a great idea you got by keeping your mouth shut and watching what the successful ppl are doing and what works for them, took me several yrs of trying to figure things out on my own the hard way to learn how to learn from others who know how to get it done.....good looking dog to boot as well, I'm eventually going to add some bird dog into my dogs as an outcross to add that zig zag hunting style....
