What batteries do yahl have the best luck with in your garmin. I've been running cheap alkaline and only getting a few hours out of it. I heard lithium is the way to go but is there any particular brand anybody prefers for long life?

Regular ole Duracell batteries. No problems.

I always used the Duracell or energizer... but the 320 battery life does suck compared to the 220.

Rechargeable NiMH Energizers. Last 8-10 hours on a charge.

im glad this question came up. Just this weekend I had an issue with my 320, I had been running the energizer lithium batteries but the last 2 I had were going dead and all I had were the regular copper top duracells. I swapped em out and in under 4 hours my garmin was saying low battery........ We were sittin around waitin on dogs friday night and I happened to go into the settings menu and found a "battery type" option, I clicked on it and my garmin was set to lithium batteries which would explain why I never could get any decent time out of a set of the regular copper tops before switching to lithiums, without even turning my handheld off and back on I changed my battery settings back to "alkaline" and immediately my battery bar jumped back to full, I proceeded to hunt the rest of the night then 6 hours saturday and at least 7 hours sunday on the same cheap ol duracell copper tops, when I turned it off at the truck sunday it was still showing 3/4's charge..........
you may want to check your garmin and see which type batteries it is set up for, made a BIG difference for mine. hope this helps.

I run Duracell copper tops also. I get 8 to 10 hours out of them. I turned the vibrate off and it was better. Turn the back light down and use the sun and it helps also. With those 2 things I now get a couple more hours. The unit will tell u batt to low for full backlight way before it dies.

yep the battery life is terrible. Wish I would have knew his before I bought the 320 I would have stuck with my 220. But I just use rechargeable and swap them out every hunt.

This may sound dumb, but if you will buy some lithium batteries and keep your garmin set to alkaline and turn your backlight to medium you will get longer life out of your batteries.
