Well I was informed today that I will be spending a week in the middle of June in Seagrove Beach Florida. My mother has rented a beach house for her, me my wife and kids, and my sister, her husband and her kids.  While I personally would rather vacation somewhere with mountains, I'm certainly not gonna turn down a most expenses paid trip to the beach.

Anyone here ever vacationed around that area? Are there any kind of must see or must do adventures. I've been on the interweb all night looking it up and my plan so far consists of sitting on the beach drinking cold beer and gorging myself on fresh seafood(something severely amiss in NE OK).  I'm particularly interested in any type of outdoorsy type activities. Looking on a map I see there is a lot of Nat'l forest area near by, but not sure what that offers. I've already spent plenty of time looking at fishing trips in that area and I am sure I will get in on some of that. And obviously, without question I am wondering if there are any hog hunting oppurtunities nearby.

I've never been down that part of the country and was just looking to see if anyone here has and what they have to say about it. Thanks.

We used to go to Seaside, Fla. right down the road from Sea Grove. Nice little town without all the hustle & bustle Destin has. I used to go over & hog hunt with a good friend & his lease was about 15 miles from Destin so if you know somebody, there is good hog hunting. we used to run bear just a little further east in Apalachchiacola national forest. sp.?
Other then that there is not much to do unless you want to rent a bicycle & ride around. Grin So enjoy the beach & the scenery with the family. Grin
