Well, my wife and I had our 16th anniversary this weekend. We headed out west and rented a cabin, I brought along a few canine companions just in case I found some time to hunt...
Anyhow, I met up with Jesse Paul for a little Welty. The first night we just hunted my dogs along with two of JP's pups that are littermates to my Ann and Percy pups. We wound up catching three confirmed good ones and heard multiple squeals. The last hog of the night was a good boar that lady bayed solo.

The second night JP broke out the hill country boar hounds. They certainly did not disappoint. We started the night off with a good boar they ran a couple miles and bayed. By the time we walked back to the truck they were bayed again at 900 yards in the opposite direction. We got to them and it was a bigger boar. These are the first two.

We headed to a different spot and the dogs went ape chit winding a hog. Dumped the box, the dogs ran this spotted boar around a few miles over the river and through the woods. Jp knew where the hog was heading and we sat and waited on the boar hounds to bring him to us. As they got close jp got ready on his trail. The 41 mag catchdog gave this spotted hog blew eyes and it slid across the road at jp's feet.

We went on to another place and dumped the box within 30 seconds, we had the hounds singing a tune. They were circling a group of 10-15 hogs like a wagon wheel. We went to machine gunning... after the smoke cleared we had four good boars down and multiple little ones running off to lick their wounds. Called the boar hounds off and called it a night.

Thanks for another good weekend JP..
