I had a land owner call me and tell me he was looking at 2 big sows and a bunch of little ones so I figured this would be a perfect opportunity to take my two year old son on his first hunt!! I went and loaded dogs while him and his momma where getting ready and we drove out to the ranch where the pigs where spotted. They had moved down to the creek by the time we got there and we was having trouble getting the dogs down wind and every time I got out of the truck Rankin (my son) sure wanted to go but I didn't want him getting out until we where bayed. Finally got the wind right and dogs left!! They had the whole sounder bayed for a good while but it took me a minute or two to get the bulldog, mom, and Rankin straighten out to head to them. Lol. Matt went ahead of me with the bulldog and said there was one sow that kept wanting to brake pretty hard but the dogs kept putting her back in the bunch. Well by the time I got there she broke to hard and got away and the dogs stopped her on the middle of the creek of course!!! I let rankin watch and he kept saying Salty (which is now his dog) get the pig!!! I handed Rankin to his mom and waded across the creek and got the sow killed. I have been on a lot of pig hunts and had lots of fun but this hunt by far tops it all off!!!
Here is Rankin with Salty the brindle dog and Charlie
