I got a call the other day from a housing developement that is  having some problems with hogs rooting up their yards. I do not do much trapping anymore but was interested in seeing the place because it is surrounded by some really nice woods and swamps. Set a appt to meet with the Homeowners President and headed to see the problem.

Got to the housing developement and met the President and he gave me the tour of the property and said I had the green light to do what it took to take of their problem. The place is a huge developement with 1000's of acreas surrounding it of old Florida swamp land. I scouted the area and put 2 traps out.

In 2 days I get a call from the President of the housing developement to let me know that I have something in my trap making the most God aweful sounds and it has the neighbers all spooked!! Told him I was coming by later today to check the traps. I loaded my catchdog and went to the property. Headed to the area where they were hearing something in my trap. Had a couple 100 yd walk back into the swamp where I had my trap. On the way in i like to have a dog with me in case I bump something on the way to my trap. On the way in my catchdog Clyde starts acting like he is winding something and the hair on his back is standing up, and he is pulling and growling!! When I get close to the trap Clyde is silent but still all puffed up, we pop out of the palmettoes to see my trap!! When I look at the trap I hear the loudest, ba** tightening growl that freezes me and Clyde in are tracks!! I cannot believe whats in my trap!! A Damn Lion!!

Just Joking!! But could you imagine??  Evil

Went to the Big Cat Rescue park and when I saw that 450-500lb lion in a transport carrier that looked like a hog trap, I had to take the picture!!
That lion roared one time and that little cage suddenly did not look like it could hold that cat if it decided it wanted out!! The sound from the roar that close (10-15yds) will raise the hair on your neck for sure!!

Was that at the Big Cat Rescue near the Tampa area?

Reubin. Could you imagine that!! Probably lose a arm just trying to lock the gate open!!

I had a friend who was leading his bulldog to a bay. When he got 50yds out he cuts the bulldog lose and runs in behind him! When he gets to the bay, he sees his bulldog launch himself for the catch, but instead of a hog it was a black bear!!! The bear grabs the dog and slaps him across the ground like a hockey puck!! The dog gets up and try's to catch again and the same thing happens. Luckily my buddy was able to grab his bulldog as the bear broke!! Dogs vest saved his life for sure!!
