Mines never seen a hog till last saturday but he bays pretty decent and will stop a runner. We let him in to excite a catahoula pup and he stole the show. He may not have alota nose but defiantly a help dog prospect. And he does work cattle!

Were common here crossed with English Bull Terriers in the 1970's and 80's.  Straight crosses with boxer are more common nowdays - longer legs, more athletic and slightly more brains.

Like Aussie black mouth curs said their r quite a few people running crosses hear in aus with cattle dog in them, the ones I've seen had pretty good noses with alot of drive an should be hard. If u have proper working cattle dogs I don't think they will bark at a pig the ones we have for working cattle r very ruff an will hang if a cow bails up no bark, they will get culled if they bark at a cow. A down side too them is alot of them don't mind too fight!

Maybe it's just been....oh....coincidence maybe, but most of the heelers I've seen put on hogs were some ROUGH SOB's.

Hes never barked at a cow but he barked at the hog some. And he wasnt to overly aggresive but he does like when somethin wants to come at him. Probably wont ever use him on hogs but hes fun to watch work one.
