1d fastest usually on 1/2 second splits so 4 d is 2 seconds slower.  After 1 d it's a crap shoot to place, all splits are off of fastest time.

Ya it's different. The way I think it works to my knowledge is that after the run theN they categorize it as 1D-4D. The faster you are the higher you go up. PM laurendaniel she can fill you full of it. All I gotta say is GOOD LUCK!!! My advise would be turn and run while you can if it's not too late!! It's a bottomless black hole lol keeping them on all 4 legs and in shape

Man o man, I wish you luck! A guy I know just spent 40,000 on his wife an open rodeo and 1 D horse. I wish I had all the money I've spent over the years on my wife's barrel racing! I could have one heck of a set of dogs and a stable full of good heel horses. I don't rope anymore because I can't afford both. But that's my fault for marrying a barrel racer. I hope your ready to to quit hog hunting on the weekends and start going to watch her run cans, for some reason they think that we should be there to support them but all they really want is someone to haul water to their horses !! And don't think for a second that it will end with 1 horse. As soon as she wins a $50 dollar check for coming in 5th place in the 4D in a barrel race that only had 30 entries in it to begin with her head will swell and she will think that she is the next Sheri Cervi and then you will have to buy her a back up horse in case her # 1 mount gets hurt ! Cheesy Barrel racers are not good at math, it'll never even cross her mind that she spent $100 dollars in entry fees and $75 in diesel to win that $50 dollar check. Thats just the start, truck, trailer, saddles, tack. It really adds up. Take it from me. The best and cheapest thing you can do is go to Elkhart horse sale and buy the craziest horse there and tell her it is a barrel horse and hope that it throws her and breaks her leg. After a couple months in a cast maybe she will never want to see another barrel horse. Yes, I know, she might walk with a limp for the rest of her life but you'll be better off  having a wife with a slinky leg than being broke and having to haul water to some dang barrel horses on a Saturday morning when you should be in the woods tying a big boar hog !!

Lance don't forget the farriers & vets fault when they don't place in the 6d so they call a psychic to ask what is upsetting the horse. When the hole time it's rider era. Or better yet try and explain how the 12 yr old girl who weighed 43 lbs outran her when she weighs in at 190.  No baby you still same size you were in high school.  Not to mention the$ 69,000 truck and $129,000  trailer so you must have because so & so said it relaxed their horse!  Then the chiprocartor & acupuncture, the equi treed meal.   You can even get a new tractor so you can keep the playpen in excellent condition, because the horses have to have perfect footing.  So now you can have 2 flu time jobs to support her. Then you can put lights on the playpen do you can watch her ride in the 30 min you have off between your two full time jobs and 10 hrs over time at each job so you can buy her something with a fake crystal in it so she will know you love her. Because her friend has one.

Look at the bright side fellas. As soon as something new comes on the market, be it saddle, saddle pad, bit, shoe, etc. etc., she will be guaranteed a check at the next entry she makes because ol' so and so had it and they just won because of it. I call them crazy lady conventions, JMO though   Grin .

Know more than the vet!  Pay a vet to do ex rays, ultra sound, cat-scans, blocks, ect!  Then not follow the vets directions!   I forgot if they run 1,2,3d they probably will develop users, and become a bleeder.   But on the barite side so & so horse is also and they said I could try this product, 90day supply only $799.95.    And then all the gay friends that they acquire that you get to meet.  And every barrel racer has at least 3 dogs they haul every were they go!
