Glad he turned on. Good to know he is finding as well as catching. That is what they are intended to do. Sounds like urs may be one of the few to live up to the standard.

Send me the pics I will post them.

That's a fine looking animal sir. You say he bays until you get there then he catches? That's kinda odd for a dogo but pretty dang neat.

Tried to zoom the second pic in a bit for you, not sure how well it worked though.

Is it acceptable for a dogo to bay according to the standard?

I know they were intended to hunt/catch as a pack

A dogo should not ever bay if you are going by standards.

One that will bay a lil until u get there then catch is better than one that couldn't find a dead fish in an open room.

Hell as long as he is putting pork on the table and you are happy with him and the way he hunts then it doesn't matter what the standered says...

Hell as long as he is putting pork on the table and you are happy with him and the way he hunts then it doesn't matter what the standered says...
If the intent of the breed upon creation and refinement was for it to be straight catch on it's intended game/quarry. Should a representative of that breed that does not function in that manner,  be considered a cull? If it is not to be considered a cull, does it do the particular breed a diservice to allow said specimens to be called by that particular breed name? If these specimens are allowed to reproduce and those undesirable traits get passed on to the offspring and offsprings offspring on down the line...at what point should it be considered a different breed? Or, should it ever be considered a different breed?
