Well...my crossover into the bay pen scene ain't seemless. There have been some bumps here and there. My two gyps that I thought may transition probably ain't gonna cut it.

Bella is just way to rough. She gets stupid for about the first 30 seconds (of the 2 minute run) trying to catch....and so far succeeding more often than not.

Abby...her daughter is better. As of yet she isn't that rough unless I run her in old and young with her momma. She does everything I ask of a pen dog as long as the hog is lively but if it just sets up she'll start having look outs around the minute mark.

Anyway....me and those two are hitting the woods again....most recently with Ltcaughthog and his rough curs since he's back in town.

This was a sow from a couple weeks ago

I do have some six/seven month old pups that are doing pretty fair but the jury is still out on them as well. I think I'm gonna run my Abby (Jasper/Bella) and Emma (Jasper/Dixie) pups together.

Then Abby and "Pig" (Jasper/Bella 2nd breeding)

"Pig" is the red pup....he is doing a pretty fair job in the pen and turning into a FINE looking dog.

He's a BIG rascal. About 6 1/2 months and around 60lbs already...and that's lean.

I'll give these young pups to about a year old or so I guess and if they don't start getting me perfect scores then well....they'll be hitting the woods with momma and sister.

Logan and Matt and I are gonna hit the woods again tonight...see how it goes.

Just go get you a Catahoula with no nose and not brave enough to catch a hog, then you have a top pen dog

Lol...if only it was that easy.

Thing is...if a dog won't put it's mouth on the pig...it ain't gonna score good either.....and trust me, if it's a cull in the woods it's probably a cull in the pen too. More often than not a pen cull goes to the woods and makes a dog.
