I picked this dog up a few months ago off a dirt road where she was probably dropped off. I showed her a 30 pound pig and she bayed. Then I put her in the pen a time or two and she will catch anything under 150 now by herself. I took her huntin and she hunts her tail off, dead silent until bayed, and will stick with one for a while. She's been finding hogs left and right here lately but been getting pretty rough. I thought she was bird bull to start but now I'm thinking she may be hound and pit crossed. She looks rough in the pic but we had been huntin all day and she was bout wore out. What y'all reckon she is?

Bettin theres some form of hound in that dog for sure. Good find. Always like to hear of someone finding an ace somewhere like that.

I say bird dog. Maybe not even a bulldog cross. The muzzle and head has that block of a bird dog. Color and build also match bird dog. It could be a poor example of the true breed but still a well built dog. Google English Pointer and look at the pics. That is what I believe this to be.

I agree, looks like a lot of English Pointer in her. But might have some hound in her by looking at the ears and jowels

Put her on some quail and see if she locks up on point.

Just about all I hunt are English pointers and pointer crosses, that's why I picked her up. She is stockier than the pic shows. I figured she was bird bull, but she's got some ear and blows up like a hound on the first bark at every bay and then chops. I'm not much in to hounds so I'm not sure but either way she is making a fine dog. I will try to get a better pic this afternoon.

It's hard to say. I'm still leaning toward full blood. But who knows.

I know a few guys who should hit the dirt roads and look for something like that. Kinda sounds like you found a diamond in the rough.
