Jimmy, my curs I used to have came from people who used to have hogs & cows in the woods. My plotts I have had over thirty years. Could you expand on the Joe bloodline for me. I really do not know that much about the cur dog lines.
I have know Ray Modistet for around 30 years, so know he has had his blackmouth curs for a while. Just trying to broaden my horizon & learn a little bit on different cur strains & breeds.
  Thanks.

Cole McVeay owned the old Joe dog.  I been friends with Cole's brother Shane for a lotta years and we traded some dogs back and forth threw the years is how I ended up with the Joe dogs I got.  There is a lot of folks on here that know about the Joe dog and what kinda dog he was as well as they know Cole and Shane.  They can be the ones that can tell you just as much as I can about the Joe dog himself.  He is the sire of the C.O. dog, my old Blu byp and the Little Ann dog I had threw the years all great dogs and produce great dogs.   The Hannah gyp up there is a daughter of C.O. bred back to a granddaughter of Joe threw my old Blu gyp that is outta Joe herself.  The little Hannah gyp has turned into a great little dog just like the Joe line and her ancestors.  I love the Joe stuff my self it is a honest line of dogs that has been went threw as the years went by and as a result it produces dang good dogs.  Some of the other boys on here can chime that knew the Joe dog .  Lance knew him personally as well as Alan and others that are on this board am sure Cole is on here to.

Aw yeah.  Ole Cracker is doing fine and his pups are doing great from all the feed back I been getting.  Most have settled in the middle grit game .  We have yet to have one as bad on a hog as Cracker is when it comes to catching but they are still young oldest just over a year old and some have found their on hogs, some have ran some down nutted them and held them by themselves till help could get there and one is really really making one hex of a cattle dog .  They tend to be more of holding stopping type dogs with good heads on their shoulders smart  rather than just all out catch which is a good thing really.  Of course the young dogs we are talking about are not full blooded Cracker dogs they are 1/2 and 1/2 crosses with my dogs.  Am in the waiting process right now to get Cracker bred to his cousin which those will be full blooded Fla/Partin Cracker dogs.  Those are the ones I expect to be more like him .  Don't get me wrong these crosses have plenty of grit just aint seen one like him yet when it comes to mounting a big bad boar hog.

Jimmy, I can't wait to see how your bulldog/joe crosses turn out for you too, they should have some real grit to them! Once them and your other crosses get a little more age on them, they are going to be hell on a hog.

I don't doubt it at all, man that must be something to see. If your bud ever makes that breeding again or a similar one I want to be on the list to get one of them.
