Mrslouisiana. One persons idea of a jamup dog may not be so jamup to someone else. I am sure you have purchased dogs that were supposively good dogs and they were not. Read my hunt I took her on, and she did not perform like I want my dogs to perform. I am sure you would of made the same decision I did. The trial on her was for 2wks! She did not show me much in the hunt. So I made the decision not to keep her. I will just train the patterdale pup I am getting from Tommy for game recovery. Oh, by the way thanks for the reference for Tommy!

Judge. Maybe when I get to old to handle doing the hunting by myself I will recruit some kids to do it for me! Lol....  Now if you want to pick up your game some I will send you one of my books to help you out! Lol...

I was hoping she would of been a good dog, but it did not work out. That's okay, I have always had better luck breeding and raising my own.

Tazd if you are referring to my to boys they are two hell of hands they both graduated school two yrs early and both work on two different ranches training horses. They smoke every one that has hunted with me and don't brag one bit. And if you wrote a book send me a copy I like to color. I like hunting by myself and my boys there is no ?  about it they ain't kids you would have to train your self to beat them lol

I'm just confused as to the fact that the dog was purchased for game recovery. Ifthe dog excels at game recovery and has 40 finds then why would you cull a dog off your yard in two weeks for not hog hunting? Doesn't make any sense to me? Not trying to start anything with anyone just trying to get to the bottom of the story. Us florida guys have a bad taste in other folks mouths as it is when we talk about our cur dogs to begin with.

Yes sir, the Clemons are good people. His Grandaddy Pete is a legend down there. He was a hell of a rodeo star back in the day. You got any picks of that dog?

I hear you. We all have our reasons, and standards, and expectations. I was just curios as others were as to what happened was all. She sounded good in her initial intro but like you said, what may make a "great dog" for one person may not for another.
Ah so you're getting a pup from Tommy huh? You shouldn't be disappointed. At least we have been happy with everything we've got from him. He's also a stand up guy to deal with. Good people.

If u dnt wanna hear othr ppl's opinion them dnt post about your trial dog in the first place!  We dnt know all circumstances all we know is what u txt! So thats what internet hog hunters have to go on  Wink also not everyone has "jam up dogs" whatever that is. All I know is I have hog  dogs! And if u thnk u can come over where I hunt and consistently catch 1 - 3 hogs everytime then maybe u do need to come school me. I hunt anyway that I can get my dogs on hogs whether it be roading mostly. Walking or casting on sign whichever i am doing good to catch one hog (average) everytime I go! We have alot of land with few hogs over here n my neck of the woods! So Send me ur guide on hog hunting for dummies, maybe i can find a good use for it??  Shocked  tp maybe? Lol
