I have a little pup that peachcreek gave me when he had a litter out of his dog named lady and a dog he got from the hill country from Jp. She is just around 8 months and took her today and she was a sure natural that really impressed me today. From the word go she was burning coals. We didn't bay a hog but she was in two races one that was an hour and another about an 1 1/2 and never did give up. Used her nose the whole time didn't get buggered up crossing roads. Split off and did her own thing when we struck a group and ran with the grown dogs as if she was one her Self. Road great on the buggy and just acted all around like a older dog that wasn't her first time. Really excited to see how she progresses. Here's some pics I took today. And did I mention loads of energy? She was still ready to roll when I picked her up. This pic was at the end of the day. Thanks peaches for the nice pup ; )

She did real for her first time out Colby. It's hard to get pups started on days like today.

Sure sounds like y'all got something going good there with those dogs.
The other day there was a guy bashing rough dogs and how you only need good bay dogs to catch hogs - and that's fine. It doesn't bother me as everyone is allowed to speak their mind, but I don't think some people understand how some of these hogs run.
Regardless, damn impressive work out of an 8 month old pup. Her desire and endurance are going to put many hogs in the back of your truck.

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...
