I mix 1cc of ivermectin with 9cc of polyetheline glycol and give 1cc per 40 lbs. The polyetheline glycol will mix with most substances and cause it to stay mixed evenly. It is also a preservative. It is used in many of the products we use every day. The 1tenth of a cc per 40lbs is just about what the heartworm prevenatives the Vets sell dosage is. Most people give way too much ivermectin.

Do you dilute it with water?

Iv diluted with a ringer bag, but it didnt mix well as bigo said bout mixing with GLYCOL. I could see the 2 liquids starting to seperate after a good shaking. Bc the gycol is a thicker solution than water, it binds better with the ivomec. If u can get the glycol, use it, but if not, and using a ringer or distilled/purified water, shake vigously and give it orally immediately aftr u stop shaking it. I use the 1/10th cc per 10lbs of wt. since most of my dogs weigh between 45-55lbs, i mix up a big batch in 1 syringe and give them each .5cc of mec mixed with .5cc of glycol or ringer.

I just use the ivomec paste for horses. But even when I used it straight I would just out it on bread. It soaks up in the bread. I cut a peice of bread in half. Then put peanut butter on half of the half and ivimoec on part. So one piece of bread gives me two PB and Ivomec sandwiches and each one is bite size. I use the bread trick for all meds. If it is a pill and the dog gets it out I just stick it down their throat. They learn real fast to just eat the bread. The peanut butter hides bad tastes and get them to drink water to wash it down. If you put the ivomec straight in the mouth I hear it burns the mouth. But bread gets it down safe.

About the same program here beside we do .1 cc per 10 lbs of body weight every month In The spring and summer and 1/2 cc every other month in the winter. Never have had a heart worm problem.
