Man I nearly screwed up big time. Seen a hog close to my pig pen this afternoon when I went to feed them didnt look to big so ran to the house wife and I grabed 2 dogs my cat and my started hairy dog blaze I posted about a couple day ago. We turned loose and dang dogs went for my eating pigs in the pen pull them off send them in right direction and they got caught up in briers then run him right by us. End up catching litterly with the hog leaned against the pen.  Wife legged him I pulled him over and had to stab him to tend to blaze. Dangit it would not have taken me 2 minutes to vest both of them dumb ass mistake on my part. Got bloos loss stopped and sutured and stapled up so long and shock dont get him he should be ok.

Yep if u see one don't get over anxious. If 5 or 10 min means the dogs can't find it well chances are u didn't need to. Chances are if u didn't scare the hog bad it won't go 30 yards. Hope the dogs heal fast. Nice hog. Like the color.

My luck I turn out on a 50 pounder and the dogs catch a 250 pounder.

Good to hear! Worst thing i ever did was pen up caught hogs, every time i left with dogs to run, hadda go past that hog pen,, 90% of the time u could bet you was gonna be back up at the hog pen fetching a dog! But they at the processor as we speak. Pork chops! Here we come!... And i'd have boars come up whenever my sow was n heat, and again, u turn a dog or 2 loose,,, they'd hit the pen pigs 90% of the time, with the stinkin bo hog 30 yards in the brush watching. ! Get em re directed and it would be fine, but i'm sho glad that hogpen is empty now

Lol amokabs mine aint feral hogs in thepen they pets that breed and I eat the offspring. You are durn sure right about them 30 yards off watching lol. Most of my dogs leave the pened hogs alone which is what I strive for. Lots of walks on a leash down there.  They knew the difference which is why it was so easy to redirect my cat. The last hog I caught I turned him looks right by the pen and he never looked at them but has been a while since he has been down there so.  Just glad that my hairy dog is doing well. Thank the good lord there
