Meant to add that the problem is in the yard. Not woods.

I had good success. At one time I had collars on 3 different dogs. I also used to put my sport dog training collar on a female hound I had because she would raise all kinds of hell at night. I would shock her while I was laying in bed watching tv. Lol..good luck to ya..I know exactly how it is. And whioping mine didnt do any good either. Sometimes I think they would bark just to get me to come out side. Then they didnt know what the whooping was for ..lol..

I got a little 50 dollar collar from tractor supply man it worked as soon as I put it on. sure my naighbors where happy since I live in the city. you cant leave it on all the time but once they know what it is just get you a reg. collar with a small block to trick them.

Bark collars work great for poor yard manners. Some of them will only shock a few times and then turn off. If your dog is hard headed enough he'll out last the collar.

I got two from another hunter on here and it seems to do the trick. I will say some time when the dog barks it shocks, dog lets out a yell, it shocks, and on and on for several minutes untill I tackle a freeked out dog to turn it down....lol

Garmin makes a really good bark collar with about 7 levels of intensity. Has a vibration mode or an automatic mode that increases in intensity if the dog continues to bark. When you turn it off It flashes the amount of times it corrected the dog. Great product and id recommend it to anyone.

I got the same one for my bluetick. Works perfect. If she starts cuttin up....now....all I have to do is go grab the collar and show it to her and she quiets down immediately.

The chain can set off the collar as well as metal on some models. Doesn't pay to go cheap on bark collars. Had some that would shock the dog every time he got close to the wall of the kennel.

I have found that consistency helps...I never walk up to a barking dog...I ignore the dog and only walk towards my red ryder and shoot 3 times...they go in the dog house and will come right out like it is a game...I make them go back in and stay...that is why 3 times...when I let the dogs out I carry the red ryder in case they get too excited...if they act up they don't get turned loose...if they act right they are let out...IMO a dog likes attention even if it means some discomfort at first...so ignore the dog when it is acting up and follow through with correcting...reward good behavior...

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...

IMO if the dog outlasts the correction then he will continue the bad behavior...the idea is to increase correction until the dog submits and conforms...

I used my sport dog training collar as well. Reason being is there are certain times I want and expect my dogs to bark in the yard and I did not want the bark collar zapping them then.

I have a question on the bark collar. 2 dogs and 1 collar. If dog that isn't wearing a collar barks, does it shock the dog that is wearing the collar?

It has to be on the voice box. I let mine bark as much as they want around the house it pisses my neighbor off but I don't care. He has called the sheriff on me for 30 yrs for every thing under the sun

Not a bark collar but you can get a sprinkler system & there is a app that you can use to activate it. When the water hits, the dogs hit the house. Also, I think there is a voice activated sprinkler system too. My buddy uses the one with the app. He and his wife have it on their ph. so whoever is home can set it off.
