Mine are weird sometimes there real gritty and other time bay only. No matter the size. I like a gritty dog that will stop one in a hurry then bay somewhat loose. Im hoping they will be that way someday..lol..

X2, but sometimes mine won't stop one and bay, she will hang around on its ear. As a pup mine was real rough and catchy, but not hunting her as much lately has put a hamper on her

I was told one time that Howard Carnathan got some of his early blood from J.D. Howard dogs. Any truth to this I wonder and do any of yall have any experience with these dogs?

I have heard the same. I also heard that thats where alot of the white on these dogs come from. I did another post about these dogs having white on them. My female and her pups have white on there feet. I know a lady that is bmc breeder amd she is like a howard carnathan research center..lol..and she was telling me about mr.carnathan getting involved with j.d. howard with his dogs. As far as experience ..these are the first Bmc dogs ive had. I like them though. Real smart dogs

They are all gone. I was going to keep one male for myself. I had him picked out and everything. Then i had a guy offer me the right amount of money for him. Im still thinking on it though.  But as of right now all the pups are still at my house because there not old enough to leave. If anybody backs out i will have pups available. But we will have to see what happens in a couple more weeks. Are you in Georgia?

I could be dead wrong here . But i think were talkimg about 2 different folks. (Different lines of bmc dogs) there is a howard and then theres a carnathan line. Howard carnathan is the fellas name im talking about.  He is the "carnathan" line. J.D. howard is the "howard" line.  I hope this didnt sound rude or arrogant. I dont claim to know much of anything about dogs. I just didnt know if we were talking about different folks or not .

That is true. H.C. used many JD Howard dogs in the beginning.  Yellow Buck, on that pedigree, came straight off J.D. 's yard.
