Phillip and I actually went hunting by ourself friday night, it was MUDDY!!! we realized very quick we werent going to be able to pull the trailer behind the 4 wheeler, due to the fact that it was burried in the mud about 400 yards from the truck. We unhooked the trailer cut the dogs loose and about 15 mins. later Zelda my awesome 9 month old lacy pup I got off Rowdy struck her first pig! after accuseing her of trashing Phillip had to swallow his words when Jag's (Frank) dog bayed about 40 yds behind her. It wasnt long before Zelda, Trey, and Zig was baying solid with him. We are about 200 yds out with a good solid bay so we cut Skitzer loose. I dont know how the Hogs know but it seems as if the Hog knows when you cut the catch dog loose, the hog breaks and a little over a mile later Trey circles around behind us and with a big hound like bawl mouth falls bayed HARD! Zig being only 100 yards from his brother was on the hog with him in a flash. Phillip cut Skitzer loose, we watched him on the Garmin and Phillip did the 50 yard count down 30, 20, 10, WHACK!!!! We jumped on the 4 wheeler with my 7 month old  70 lb DuraMax 1/2 AB 1/2 Dogo pup. We got within 40 yards cut my pup loose, he barked all the way to the catch and Locked on to the 300 lb Boar that was Thrashing dogs. Realizing Skitzer was cut Wide, Deep, and Often, Phillip legged the hog and I stuck it, knowing Skitzer didnt have time for us to tie it. We gathered up dogs took a couple of pics and headed for the truck without Frank who was over a mile away Bayed HARD!

Muleman got up at 3 AM to meet me at his house where we worked the next two hrs on Skitzer. All in all skitzer had 5 large cuts and a puncture in his gut. after 50 plus staples and lots of antibotics  we have considered changeing his name to Frankenstein! He looks bad but seams to be feeling better.

Hey, I dont mind going to Clay, all I need is a catch dog because if there is one thing I know to be true about Clay, at the end of the race he will be waiting on the Catch Dog!

raider54 I should have some fun with this and get mason and you in a wrestleing match...but this is Grant! Mason is digemdown.
FYI that red leopard catahoula De gave mason is going to be bad to the bone living hell in a baypen and hunts good to for a young dog, but if it works out and mason retires the doberman i may never see a dobie in the woods ever again Shocked

i would also like to publicly thank muleman for his help with skitzer.he didnt have to answer the phone, or get out of bed or loan us the staple gun or help look for the dog we left in the woods. BUT HE DID with no excuses or complaining. i often tel my wife that some of the best people ive ever met  has been through hog hunting and even this forum. i tip my hat to you Dee and to all the guys that have gotten that call and responded without hesitation when somebody needed help. thanks, and i hope i can return the kindness but hopefully with less serious circumstances
