Got some bad news the other day! One of my dogs (Zipper) that a buddy has got killed the other day. Zipper was a straight catch old school Florida Cur! He was the dad to my Blaze dog that is becoming a very solid dog and is not yet 2yrs old! Zipper was not the best dog around, but he was a very good representation of a Florida Cur!! Going to miss him in my breeding program!!

It got me thinking that I need to find a dog to replace Zipper in my breeding program. Luckily I got a call from a buddy who has my Chance dog, and he was wanting to sell him because of his age, and him not putting up with any young dogs bumping him or trying to show dominence on the old man!! I guess he was getting a little growliy when pushed around!! LOl!!! Damn if that does not sound like me now that I am getting older!! Lol.. I went ahead and bought Chance back, and he will be used to train some up and comers for my friend, and to be used in my breeding program! It was really nice to see the old man, all scared up like frankenstien, and have him come running up to me with his tale wagging and his crocked grin!!

Sorry for your loss Guy.

Chance looks like a real good one, and I remember you telling me some of his background and how he hunts. I bet he produces a few good ones for you. Good luck with him.

Hate to hear that Guy. Is Chance related to Zipper? Both good looking dogs.

No Mike. Zipper came from the Campbell family. They have been breeding their own for almost a 100yrs!

Chance is out of Poacher from Jimmy Messicks/Rodger Morgan's Florida Curs.  Poacher was on the show "Lady Hogdoggers". He was one bad dude!! I had Chance from a pup till he was 4, he is 8 now. He was one of my original dogs. I had him, a sister Peanut. Bo, and his sister Lucy.  First litter was Chance bred to Lucy! That's what I started with when I got into Florida Curs! When I got him he already had his jaw broke by a bulldog, was run over by a dually pickup truck, and then he ran off after being run over and was lost in the woods for 3wks!! Then I got him! He had no name, was very shy, and was whooped to much!! I decided to give him a "Chance"' and he turned out to be a good one!! A warrior for sure!! He has been cut down some many times it's amazing that's he still alive!!

Damn that sucks Guy. Them old school true Florida dogs are getting harder to come by. Gary Stamped had Poacher. I guess he died too. He got him from a fella named Jimmy Justice.

Jimmy. Actually Poacher came from Jimmy Messick. He gave him to Jimmy Justice, and then Gary got him. Jimmy Messick had a bunch of Poachers! When one got killed, the next big red Florida Cur he bred up would be called Poacher!
