Wild rabbits

Caught 2 baby rabbits. Both r fully furred n both moved pertty fast, but not fast enough. I brought them in to try n raise them since after touching the first 1, i figured that either the dogs runnin loose would catch n kill (almost like they did the sec 1 before i got it away from my hound pup) them or the momma wouldnt have anything to do with the 1 i touched. Ill get pics tomorrow, but what will work for feed through the night till tomorrow when i can get something else for feed. I put water in a cut down plastic bowl in hopes they will drink but just in case, i got baby formula if yaw think they r still nursing. I also put some lettece in the cage.

I hope you can raise them but iv never seen it done by a human there finiky lil suckers. I dont have any advice just wishin ya good luck.

this is what the wild rabbits at my house looks like. Good luck raising them though. I have also heard there hard to raise. Im sure it can be done though.

When I was a kid I had a basset that found a couple out in a field. I brought them home and set them up in an apple box. Fed them baby formula too, they were pretty calm until they got that formula in them. Once they got a little energy they were a handful, they would jump nonstop in the box all night. Next morning one was dead, I think it broke its neck jumping. I turned the other one loose behind our place. Ive kept a lot of wild critters with no problem, but those rabbits were high strung and hated being caged even being that young.

There's no telling at the critters I've brought home for momma to raise and daddy once had a beagle that would hole rabbits, one day he brought two, mom raised them things up and they were nice size until one of dad's beagles got out and gave them a heart attack one day lol

Those are smaller than the ones I had. I'd bet they were still nursing

   Looks like baby jackrabbits? If it is they are born with hair and eyes open. As kids we raised lots of them. little encouragement they will drink milk from a bowl.

Charles that makes my moms day. Everyone in our little town brings her animals to raise on a bottle. She raises baby birds, possums, skunks, raccoons, Bobcats,rabbits, wild hogs, deer, and even a mountain lion on a bottle. If you need to ask her any questions just let me know.

a bobcat kitten would be freakin awesome ! I believe i'd make a trip to texas for one of them. Lol..

The bobcat lived for 17 years. It went blind for the last three. It was a cool pet but we wouldn't have another one. The vets want help you when you need help. She wAs very territorial in the house. If you moved any furniture then she would set were the furniture was and growl and slap at you when you came by. Then if you moved the furniture back to that spot then she would start all over in the new spot. Her favorite thing to play with was a ice cube. She would run thru the house at top speed slapping the cube from one paw to the other. I got her fixed because when she came into heat it was hell at the house. Now there is a law in our county that prevents anyone from having one

We cant have crap over here in Ga either. One fella had a deer that he actually raised in the woods at his deer camp. Theres a real neat/sad story on it at GON.com , the fella said she would be waiting on him every time he got to his stand. He would bring apples and what not to drop down to her while he was hunting. Said she would hear ,smell or see things coming way before he would. He would watch the deer more than the woods and when she started acting funny he knew something was headed his way. She got hit by a truck though crossing the highway. He said that was his best hunting partner ever. He kept a big wide bright pink collar on her all the time but she just roamed free and had her own little group that she stayed with. But when he was coming through the woods she would always meet up with him or be at the stand shortly after he got there. Said he spent quite a while with that deer and when deer season rolled around he would be worried sick that some idiot would shoot her even if they saw the collar. Any way didnt mean to jack the thread. Just thought i'd share that while were talking wild animals.
