Im at the end of my patience with a bitch I have that gets carsick, I cant take her anywhere, she vomits at least half a dozen times and number 2cans the bed of my truck. In summer its easier to wash out but in winter I have a camper shell on it suck spraying it out. Shes just over a year and at first I thought if I took her in the truck more she would get over it but it just got worse. It was affecting her mentally to the point where If I put her in the truck and was getting ready to go hunting she would be drooling all over the place before we even got going. The throw up isnt as bad as the diarrhea. I have another young dog that number 2s every time I take him somewhere no matter how long I let him run around before, even though he doesnt throw up I think he is getting carsick as well or at least its a sign of stress. Anyone have a remedy for this problem??? I need help!!!

I dont know what to tell ya about a dog that age that has been on enough rides to be use to it by now. I've had several dogs that never threw up. Ever. And then some would do it for the first few rides and it was over. I bet they make a pill or something though. Good luck !

There is a pill. Its similar to what humans take. I saw in 1 of my pilot supply magazines. I think the mag was sportys.

We used to recommend Famotadine to clients with car sick dogs. You can get it at Wal-Mart or any pharmacy.

Give the dogs some Dramamine and just ride them around about 30 minutes after administering. Don't do this when going hunting as it will slow them down. They will get used to being hauled after a few times.

Have u tried hauling the dog in and out of a box? One way or the other may work better for her.

I havnt tried in and out of a box but Ive thought about putting her in a crate but if crapped number 2 herself in the crate the cleanup would be bad. I hadnt thought about anti motion sickness meds because I figured it would dull her wits in the field. but maybe Ill try it to get her used to riding in the truck.
