Ok. I'm pretty much done hog hunting. The 2 places i had that were big enough to really put a good day in are gone. I sold the decent dogs i had along with vests and all that. Its just way to hard to find a big place with hogs here in north Georgia. Anyhow. I have this bmc pup that i think is awesome. I haven't started him on anything yet but he is really gamey with plenty of drive. I plan to build a big bay pen at the house and work him in there and maybe if im lucky win some events with him. But heres what i been thinking. I use to do ALOT of coon hunting and still have some good places for that. Could he be a coon dog and bay pen dog at the same time? Also he's a weathorford ben dog. I know the ladner are more the tree dog types. Whats my odds here ? Thanks !

If he is a Waterford ben pup...I will say he is a 1 in 10...all kidding aside...if he don't tree you might can hog hunt once in a while with  hogdogger buddy...

I am not an expert on baying contests but quite a bit of the ybmc dogs don't have the right style to win...but it is a good style for the woods...

I don't know nothing about pen baying or Ben bred dogs but I use to coon and hog hunt a lot with my dad's cow dogs when I was younger. All you can do is point them in that direction and see if it takes hold.

First step would be establish an excellent handle on him if you try to go several ways with him that way he knows what you expect out of him and when.
