3rd party NDE technician for 7yrs in refineries and chemical plants. I work for JV industrial currently (3.5yrs) as either the onsite QC manager or as a piping superintendent, whichever is needed on a project by project basis. I enjoy the QC more as I have a strong inspection background and it comes easy to me but running as a piping superintendent has its perks aside from feeling like a babysitter to welders and fitters occasionally
.............. pretty much my job consists of making sure that my employees have everything needed to complete a job in a safe timely manner, I handle ordering of ALL materials from grinding disks to welding machines and all other necessary equipment........ I can't complain though, I'll never get rich doing it but I make enough to support myself my other 1/2 and the little one and still have enough left over to afford the occasional toy here and there.
