What public land are you hunting this season?  Did anyone get any good hunts (Green Swamp West or such)?

Got Green Swamp West and Chasawiska (spelling may be off).  I've hunted West the past 3 seasons, but this year they are in serious trouble.  I've got a pack that is ready and willing.  I've never been to Chasawiska before.  It is on the coast.  Of course, these are in addition to the regular management areas that I hit every year.  It should be a fun season if it gets cool.

You should really try kissimee river, it is by far the best management area i have ever been on LOTS of hogs and it doesnt get hunted that much.

I've got a cur dog hunting cousin that lives in around St. Cloud.  He did have an airboat.   I may need to give him a call.  I don't have a boat these days.

I've got a buddy that hunts hounds with me.  He has a nice metal boat that he gator hunts out of.  We might need to get together.  Is this place cuttable?  Meaning, can I get to my dogs?

Yeah, there is alot of big islands out there that you could drop the dogs on and be able to run a boat the whole way around it

That area is known for gators.  My dogs swim like fish.  ARE THERE REALLY A LOT OF GATORS AROUND?  No hog is worth lossing a dog to a gator.

Sounded great, until that.  Most likely, I'll pass.  Thank you for the info though.  TOOOOOO many good places to drop a dog, without having to worry about a lizard.

I was wondering, i was reading the pamphlet for seminole ranch where i got a quota and it says you can have no more than 3 free running dogs, does this mean you can have as many dogs as you want and just 3 on the ground?

Yes, you can take as many in the dog box as you want.  However, don't turn out more than three at a time.  That includes the catch dog.  When you release him, you better not have more than 2 others out.

Hunted Mallory the last two years. Alot of hogs, rough, ty ty vines so thick on one end, most people stay away from that area. Met some good people and a few with sticky fingers.  Caught plenty though.

Josh,

I am looking for someone with a Lake Panasoffkee WMA dog hunt permit, if you hear of anyone with one. It is now a regular quota, so you can't trade it, but its close to my house and I know the place well ( I have hunted the dog hunt in there the past 3-4 years) so if someone has a permit and wants someone to go with them, I would like to get in.

There seem to be more hogs in there this year than last and we caught 8 in two days last year.

I have GSW again this year too, and a buddy has Potts. We hunted Chasawitzka last year, caught one decent boar hog, but the place wasn't overrun with hogs. Have to watch for bears in there too! Good road system in Chas, you will have fun running the hounds as long as they don't go to the salt marsh.

Never hunted Kissimmee yet but I DO have an airboat..... Grin

Any of you guys that want to get together for a Mallory hunt, let me know.  I know the place well, and have some good spots.  Bring a change of clothes, as you will get dirty.
