I got invited out to hunt some rice fields with Mike , Travis ( Peachcreek ) and Mathew (MFKennels )

Yeah, but that rice action only lasted a few hunts... I picked it up too late. They cut it and immediately flooded the fields for duck season... hogs moved out.

Mike they flooded it for duck hunting that soon? Down here after they get 3 cuts off it. After they cut it in July - august they really flood it and it grows back for them to cut again. We still have standing rice in September for teal season and I have seen them harvesting the first week of November

Yes sir, it surprised me. They finished cutting on a Tuesday... the following Saturday they had water pumping into the fields.
