So I get a text the other day, it went like this....
Him - "Hey Mr Nevil, this is Lucas from Tuskers, heard you have some good blood on your yard? Do you have any finished dogs for sale or some pups??"
Me - " Well...the only pup I have is a 10-11 month old male..but he's promised to a buddy. Now..if my buddy don't take him...he'll be available. I'll know one way or the other by Oct 7-8 or there bouts"
Him - "Ok thank you sir. He out of jasper? If so I'll pay whatever it takes to have him"
Me - "He's a grandson to Jasper"
Him - "Take $1000? Cash in hand"
Me - "Line bred""
"Lol...he's just a pup"
"Barely started"
"I'd give him to you"
Him - "I want that blood. Heard a lot of good things about it"
Me - "Who did you hear all that from?"
Him - "Every hog dogger in Oklahoma"
Me - "Lol...don't know bout all that...but Jasper was a good dog, I liked him"
Him - "Well I'm in Dallas right now leaving a show, I can bring you $1000 right now for him"
"Where do you want to meet"
Me - "Told you he's not available right now...and if he was...is just give him to you. Hollar at me in October."
Him - "k"
Now honestly...I think it was someone, maybe someone who don't like me much just screwing with me. Which is fine, it happens I guess. Anyway, I'd hate to think someone would actually drop $1000 on an unstarted 10 month old pup.

If the jasper dog is actually that well known and thought that highly of then yes I can see someone dropping that for a stud dog

For a grown...well started dog that'll put you on hogs consistently, sure. But were talking about a 10 month old pup that's barely started.

If the guy wants to breed him, he knows the genes are there, it might take a few litters to find what hes looking for but its there somewhere

Sounds like a fool to me there's culls in every gene pool and don't matter what they come from they aren't worth breeding in my opinion.

By no means am I saying that your pup is a cull but am saying that he may be and paying $1000 for a maybe is foolish to me.
