Super excited about this cross. I bred my lead gyp (3/4 cat 1/4 plott) which is silent n long range to my medium range gsp. This is only the 2nd time she's been in heat in 3 years but she took n should be some hunting fools.

She still has 22 days to go! Anyone have pros or cons with a similar cross? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

what does the bird dog hunt like?
Are they line bred dogs, or just good hunting dogs bred together that dont have proof of throwing pups like they hunt?
Great cross IMO, if your going to scatter breed good dogs to good dogs its not as effective % wise as line bred but those gsp seem to be the best scatter bred dog to breed to! congrats, hope they work.

They are hunting dog bred to hunting dog. The gyp comes from a line of hog dogs, but nothing wrote in stone. The GSP is just a hunting dog, that turns over every leaf in the woods and winds while in the sxs.

Velma Harley Darla Abby This is just an update on the pups. They're 7 months old now n 3-4 will bay the fire outta hog. Harley has been hunting 4 times n made the full race 4 times. She shows the most promise so far. Abby is a ball of fire in a pen n I can't wait to start taking her. Id rank her 2nd out of the 4. Velma is very timid but coming along. She's still coming along. I still have high hopes for these 3 dogs. The last dog is Darla. She was my pol n right now won't do a dang thing!
