finally got a hog!!! Ive been out six or so times since the end of deer season and kept getting outran or unlucky but last night we put an end to the dry spell with a 200 and some change spotted boar. Dropped the dogs Midnight, Blue, Dreamy, and Huck, and within ten minutes of walking up the steepest hill around the dogs were baying hard, got up close and they had a boar in a ditch, well maybe they had each other, it was tight quarters and he was smashing them against the walls of the ditch. Huck was already caught so I cut my catch dog Gringo loose and he snatched the other ear, I jumped down in the ditch and the boar started spinning and attempting to wipe the dogs off, I couldnt grab his back legs because the ditch was too steep and he was down a drop off so I grabbed his tail and tried to get a leg but he decided to drag walk us all down the ravine, as he was snuffing Huck into the dirt I decided I better shoot him to break him down. I popped a 44 in his lower back and walked down behind him and the dogs to where the ditch met the creek and flipped him on his side and finished him off. Huck and blue had some nice cuts, so I stapled them up and gutted the hog. This was a very special hog, its the first hog Ive ever got solo and without borrowed dogs, just my own. Its also probably Midnights last hunt, shes a 12 year old dog that was given to me by a good friend and mentor and shes just to old to get it done, it was also the first hog my 1.5 year old cat has caught when the others did. Awesome night!!!

Thanks fellas! ya that black cat sure is pretty to look at, I think he has a little parker in him, he bays pretty good but when I look in his eyes I just see more potential than what hes shown me, these cats I have are just slow starters

Ya that's her, she hasn't done much but she sure loves going hunting still, she can't handle the steep stuff up here very well, she gets tuckered out, I think she's 13 years old, when you get her in fresh sign she acts 5 years younger

He's half Dogo quarter pit and quarter grey hound, he's really fast, about 80 lbs. I gave up on the rats I had, the couple I had that were excellent deer dogs just didn't take to hogs like I thought they would and all my newer pups were chirpy in the kennel, which drives me nuts. After loosing a really good Kemmer and culling a few prospects I finally have a decent pack and some really promising pups
