My wife picked me up at work today and was bragging about how she went by irvins (our local hole in the wall hunting supply store) and picked her up a new lead and collar for her hound.  I was checking it out and giving her a hard time when she pulled a new alpha out of the back seat.  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin....been wanting one since they came out.  Can yall tell me some of the good and the bad about them? I know some of yall have had them for quite sometime.  How do you like them? Whats yalls favorite features etc etc. And how do they compare to the astro 320 that I use to have. Thank yall. Oh ....did I mention I have one hell of a wife?  Lol...

They are the best thing that's ever been invented lol. The shock system is great. Get really good tracing mileage. It is easy to use. You can also track ur buddies if they have an alpha.

Yes sir. You can shock/tone them  as long as you have communication with the collar. The collars have beacon lights in them. Also you can take the prongs out if you don't want to use the shock system. The tt15's have the bark detectors in them. You can track tt10's,tt15's,t5's with the alpha.

I can think of zero negatives about the alpha. It will put some act right in them stubborn dogs in a hurry. Great system all around.

I believe GLONASS is the particular satellite group that the unit uses to connect with the collars but I can't really remember off the top of my head right now.

glonass is the russian GPS satellite system, the alpha uses both the US satellites and the russian ones thats why its so good in the trees and mountains

I use an xmaps card, its pretty cool, it shows all the property boundaries, ive found many land owners dont know their exact boundaries out here

X maps is a micro sd card it goes under your battery, it's a lol or coded map that has all the property boundaries and has the names of the parcel owners, it also has all the places of interest like springs and ponds, it cost 100$
