Okay i am going to ask a question n dont need anyone incriminating themselves. My neighbors dog stays in my trash. Close to twice a week im having to pick up trash because their dog has destroyed it. Now my place has giblets of trash everywhere n i look like the trashy person. It is very irritating to say the least. I drilled the hole n put a bungy strap over it n it worked for a little while until he tipped the can over n chewed off the wheel last week. Now i am totally PI**ED. Ive talked to my neighbor n everyone around has talked to the neighbor (didnt work.) Now what else could i do besides going to extreme measures?

If there is no leash law in the area you live you really only have one option to get rid of the problem and i believe I don't need to spell it out to you......do what needs to be done, keep your mouth shut and go about your business.

I also like to use the triple S method when I feel things have gone to far and I've tried everything else.  Grin

Very  peculiar situation you have.  If you botch this, your looking at being charged with a class A felony.   Didn't say convicted but that's what you will be up against if things fall apart.
If you go to athority especially for assistance before dealing with issue yourself, when the dog goes for a walk about, guess who they come pay a visit and the prime suspect is.    Or, they might be able to sole you problem without you having to go through the stress of option a.
Just wanted you to know that all 50 states consider animal cruelty a class A felony and the leftys will try to make you swing for it whether your justified or not, of thing go wrong.

I'm a ass hole all my neighbor know it. I would pick up all the trash throw it at his front door bitch him out and tell him he needs to square his self away.. I doubt cops want to mess with something so stupid like a loose dog getting into trash and tired neighbors reaction.. think how it's going to go down at the station.. look that's the hero who Stopped the trash guy..I know lots of cops and there is soo much crazy out their that thay don't have that for that number 2...lol.

Call animal control. Mom in dad's old dog was getting out. Disturbing neighbor property the neighbor said. And after the second time out they stuck mom in dad with a $500 ticket. I betcha that'll get his attention. Sure got my parents attention.

Yeah everyone is right, you have to be careful.

I would just try and catch him on my property and take him to the pound. Simple yet efficient and you won't have to worry about getting charge for anything.

As arthenry said, county animal control. If thats not an option, and you can get pics/video of the dog doing it, call the sheriff dept, if that fail to get results, then do as lou said, pick evey bit of your trash, have the other nieghbors pick theirs up and all yaw take the strode trash and dump in on his/her door step. But make sure you take out anything with personal info on it. And the ultimate last resort is as justin said, clean it up if that has to be done, but exhaust every option possible before the final straw has to be broken.

I know for a fact the tough guy stuff don't work when they live next to ya. The animal control will back fire on ya later on just put a pile of food right there where he can get pour a ton of dry red pepper on it and that might cure him or just nail him with rr BB gun

Golden malrin fly bait cures all sorts of ailments, from flys, coons in the corn, and the occasional dog in the trash. Flys are attracted to trash, so as long as there is no threats made then there's nothing that can be said if the dogs gets into something you out out for flies on YOUR property.

im a fair person, if someone told me my dog was tearing up there garbage i would shut my dog up or get rid of it  or whatever i had to do, and i expect my neighbor to do the same, with that being said you told him the dog was tearing your garbage up and he didnt care. so i would just quietly disspose of the dog and never open my mouth about it,

^ what he said. Im not trying to get in an argument but please DO NOT poison that dog, its not his fault his owner is an asshat, if you gotta handle it on your own make it quick and painless for the dog.

Why does every one want to kill the dog. How bout you snatch the dog up put in your kennel then charge him for keeping him then maybe he won't let him run loose

JP, let's be real, if you did that then you've set yourself up for theft, that can go all sorts of avenues, I'm not a dog killer and will give everyone and everything involved a fair chance to curb the situation, if to no avail then I'll take care of it myself, a nuisance is just that a nuisance and if the owner doesn't want to do anything about it then I would,  I don't believe in taking dogs to a shelter or hauling them off, I feel that's way more traumatic for the dog than just putting it down.

In Texas a dog with out a name tag is a stray it could not be theft. If a homeless fella dug thru your trash a few times would you cap his to

Now your throwing out to many variables and scenarios, nowhere did he mention it not having a collar on or anything else, your going off of assumptions, and there is a big difference in a dog scattering trash and a homeless man digging through your trash, and yes if he was making a mess after I asked him to stop he would definitely feel a sting in his rear end whether if it come from some rat shot or a red Ryder.

Lol bro if the dog is running loose and can get into trash more than likely it don't have no name tag.
