A couple years ago my wife and I were trapping hogs off of a deer lease for some guys. We pulled up to the location and thought we had a hog in the trap. As we got closer it stood up and we realized it was a big doe. You wanna talk about slap the hell wild !!! That son of a gun was going crazy. Way worse than a hog. Lol. I got my wife to record me letting it out of the trap and it was the neatest thing. As wild and scared as that deer was. When I reached in to the trap to grab the door it just stood still. I got the door up (im laying on top of the trap) and it just eased out. Then trotted off about 15 or 20 yards, turned and looked at us and just walked the rest of the way to the wood line. Like she knew we let her out. Probably not true but it made for a cool video.

We caught 3 last year. Went crazy like u said. Blood and hair everywhere. Now we took all the tops off all traps so they can just jump out. I herd of some breaking their necks.

We caught a doe in a big bull panel style trap with a drop gate...it wasn't big enough for her to get clearance to jump out. She wore herself down pretty bad, and she was pretty weak and stove up from hitting the trap so I eased up and un done a corner and let her see the hole and walked off. I'm real surprised she didn't break her neck honestly.

In Ms, it's illegal to have a hog trap with a fully enclosed roof, I can't remember the exact dimensions the opening has to be, but you can have some sort of roof on it.

Yeah, we went to the big corral style traps since we caught that deer in that box trap. If it had been a buck he would have knocked his antlers off for sure. The traps we use now the deer can easily jump out. Heck they jump in and out of it eating corn. It was a neat video but we didn't like that it happened.

RileyG, myself, and RRhyne let out a 150'' 10 point about 5-6 years ago. No lie it was also the night before the general rifle season started. That boy went nuts and I still do not know how he didnt bust up his rack.

Have caught several and they never settled down, I use diesel on the corn to stop it. There's also a carrion bait you can get from that hogsnare company.
