I bought a real good bulldog that I like alot, but was wondering about his bloodlines. He is almost snow white, weighs around 80 lbs.,plenty of leg, easy to handle, straight ear, fairly long nose,& has 1 glass eye.He looks like he is probly american but I'm not sure. Does anyone know of any bulldog bloodlines that produce glass eyes? I am pretty sure he is all bulldog & not part catahoula.I'm just wondering what his bloodline might be.Any info?

My buddy just got one. Supposed to be registered. Has a glass eye. No idea what line he comes from though, but I'd tell someone to KMA if they told me that dog was part catahoula lol. He's huge

Its not totally unusual to get a glass eye or two when the majority of a dogs head is white. That is why you will see them in dogs like white Boxers and American Bulldogs, they even pop up in APBT's as well. There are other reasons for it too but that is a real common reason for a glass eye.
I stole this off another website and cut it down so I would not have to type it.
"Blue eyes: Genetically, blue eyes can occur when a dog has large amounts of white around its eyes. White areas on the coat are where the cells are unable to produce any pigment, so if these areas spread to the face then there may be pigment loss in the eyes and on the nose, making the nose pink and the eyes blue. This only tends to occur on very high-white dogs."
There are a few other ways too but I didn't want to turn this into a college thesis.
So just because your dog has a blue eye does not mean it has to have any Catahoula in it (doesn't mean it doesn't either).

Thanks for posting Rednose. We used to see them once in a while in some Snooty bred APBT's. Never knew why.
