One of my dogs licks it's nose obsessively to the point it's raw and pitted, anyone know what causes this?

Check the dog for a seed or something else up its nose. There is a reason.

I would say more likely he got something on his nose that made it become raw and that is why he is kicking so much. A dog want like himself raw, but his licking will make him heal up. Jmo

Old man I hunted with several times in the past had a gyp get a piece of straw ran up her nose, he never noticed or was able to see it, when the vet pulled it out it was about 2 1/2 inches long.
