Hey guys, my son got a job in Fort Worth, the office is near the 35/30. Can anyone suggest areas to avoid, good areas for him to get a rental. Any and all info is greatly appreciated. We'll be driving out in the next week or so.

South central ,west, and Southwest Ft. Worth are your best bets. Willow Park to Weatherford are nice bedroom communities close to Ft. Worth.

Do not go south east, east, or north. Good luck and congrats to your son. Good people in Ft. Worth.

Ft worth is a booming town. I have worked bout every inch of that city there are trouble spots here and there but all in all good location. The housing market is very good there. Apartments should be plenty full. There are plenty of doggers around to lol. Good luck

Thanks for the helps guys, I've been searching as best I can. They're looking forward to their new life. I've told both my sons, some of the best advice I can give them is finger out of California as quick as they can.  I'll be going out there from time to time myself, especially since I'm retiring next summer.

He'll like knowing there's plenty of doggers

You know there is a town 15 min to the east of where your talking bout called mansfield. It is a nice town with tons of newer apartments and older neighbor hoods with nice rent houses. Something to look at

I saw that Peel, thanks. We'll be sitting down tomorrow and discussing options. It's been years since I moved, who knows if we like what we see, maybe me and the mrs will move too.

I don't have one of those high value homes like you might think, wish I did. I drove 23 hours straight thru, once I got past the smell of Amarillo (not sure what it was) and the sun came up, it's a pretty drive.

As it turns out, the company that hired him put him in the north Dallas area. Curve ball incoming, so he's got a place in McKinney now. We are getting him set up, he starts work Monday and the wife and I leave tomorrow. More than likely to return with a truck full of stuff in the fall.

Did I mention the heat, living in the desert like I do we haven't had humidity in a long time. Not since we left the east coast.
