Seems tonight, dogs had one them off nights. I mean I couldn't believe the way I seen my good dog hunt tonight. Even pups out hunted her. I'm down in out, she's all i got left to carry out the pack until next year. Anybody else having trouble? It cant just be me!?

Yah I oughta get off her, she probably wasn't feeling good. It's probably mostly my fault. I been so busy with work, I can't hardly put any time in with them. She just came out about 3 or so weeks ago.

In my opinion none of that stuff maters if there was a pig there a dog that finds em would have done it. She probly was telling you hey boy ain't no hogs here. Now if another dog found one I would say ok something else but she probly smarter then the other dogs and not wasting her energy just a thought

my opinion males don't get effected as much as females ... ask anyone that hunted with my old poncho dog ....he was a hogdog period .....but... sometimes I knew there was hogs there he just wasn't get;n out there ......I could catch his collar warp him about 4 times holler you better git ahead and like a martin to a gord he'd be bayed many a time within 20 minutes or sooner ..... you just gotta know the dog ...... i know hunting fields is different than big woods ......most of the time theres a hog within a quarter of where we turn loose but the dog has to get in there can't just lope roads .....

Just my opinion but wrapping a dog up side the head isn't teaching the dog to hunt harder or going out further. It's just teaching him to get away from the person hitting him. Every one can do as they like just stating what I have seen.

My bro always says the same thing. There ain't no hogs here.
She's pushing six this year, been a damn good dog. Found many many hogs. And done so alone or with help.
Im going to take her out again soon, and see what's going on with her.
She's a little strange, tho I know her holes I've had since 6 weeks old.
She's one them, don't scream, slam box doors , don't let her hear her collar beep noise when it turns on and she's fine.
One thing that has changed, is her sister just got killed about a month ago. I think she knows somthing ain't right.

I'm sure she is fine bud. Everybody deserves an off day occasionally. It's also natural for top performers to let off the gas a little after long periods of success. I have seen lead dogs do this from time to time. I might be crazy but I think they begin to take hunting for granted and assume they will always get to be turned loose. I have left them at home for a trip or two and made sure they knew they were being left out. I have also held them in the box and made them watch the other dogs hunt. Seems to make them appreciate being turned out again.
