Been a while since I've posted. Got a two year old brud dog. I do not hunt her, strictly to breed her. She is in a dirt pen which I clean daily. She has the worse toenail fungus I have every seen. 90% of her nails are cracked and splitting with fungus growing out of them.  This has progressively gotten worse in the past 3 months. I am trimming her nails and started her on prescription lamisil daily a week ago. I am treating the fungus but it's so bad once I get it under control in the next two months I assume it will come back. Has anyone ever had any issues with chronic toenail fungus? I am glad she is not a hunting dog.... She is a Florida Cur from a good line and healthy besides that. I will move her to kennel with a wood floor but there is a dirt run. Her current pen is 10x10 all dirt, but never had it this bad with my other dogs.

It's most likely on the dirt so it really won't help if she is in the same spot if you put her on wood bleach it once a month n move her to another area where there's new dirt once you get it under control that should help

Bleach, bleach and more bleach. You might into a mold and fungus chemical remover, similar to what they use on roof tops, especially in the nw states (oregon, washington and parts of northern cali) and see if that will help.

Sprinkle powdered sulfur all over the kennel, sulfur will kill any fungus or molds growing anywhere...

well if sulfur works then that should help the dog when walking on the sulfur...

there is a Vaseline type ointment that comes in a white plastic container with a blue lid...that ointment kills athletes foot better than any athletes foot medicine out there...applying that to the feet and toe nails might work... called aquaphor

Vinegar and lemon juice will kill fungus. Soak her feet 10 to 15 minutes a day and keep on with the oral meds.
