okay, most you know I had some dogs poisoned a while back ok yaddah yarddah. You get my point. Well after that happened I decided it best to move what dogs I had left alive to my buddies feedlot out in the country. Got them penned out there and not to much longer we started noticing some real significant hair loss in one of my pups and in my buddies catch dog. But they've never really had any nasty sores, hasn't smelled bad, just been losing hair. Well it's done spread around to everything. Some dogs have cleared up and are okay, some have got it, cleared up then got it again. Some haven't had it. Been to the vet a few times and have been treating it as a few different things. Well last night it dawned on me. They're penned at a working cattle yard. Sarcoptic mange is caused by mange mites. Mange mites are very prevalent in cattle... 1+1=2 kinda thing... yall ever deal with sarcoptic mange? Any tips tricks on how to treat it? Or any ideas on what else it may be??? I'm fixing to go to different vet here in San Antonio because I think my walker dog is just now getting it... I really want to get these dogs healthy man, a few of them are the only blood left out of the dogs I had killed. Fact of matter is if I'm not seeing a big improvement in the next few weeks, I'm gonna have to put the sick dogs down because I just don't feel right with the condition their living in right now.

you can kinda see here where it's making the hair real thin around her flank too. I've got one pup who's in pretty rough shape and so does my buddy and there's a few others that have it more than this walker dog but not horribly bad.

Well we're at square one. No scabies and no mange of either kind. Vet was kind of surprised to. Started her on nexguard for flea and tick. Baytril. Gave me some fish oil pills and i think cepholexin . Said Monday If it doesn't look 50% better we will try something else.

I would use the generic zimecterin...the 1.87% ivermectin horse wormer paste...squeeze out about a 1/4 inch and let them eat it mixed with a little meat and gravy. Do this once a week for 3 weeks...

if it is some kind of mite biting the dogs then the build up of ivermectin in the blood will wipe them out...most blood suckers will die...but the dogs need to be heartworm free...

Liefal I don't think bad food. I've restocked 3-4 times since I started noticing this stuff with my dogs. Doc said there's obviously a bacterial infection but it's secondary to what's causing the itching and the hair falling out.

As for dogs getting poisoned. Yah man it's no fun. Got robbed of a lot of hard work. I miss those old dogs like crazy. But this chance to start over somewhat hasn't been so bad. If I can just get this gyp healthy. And the other pup that's got it real bad. I'll have about 5 dogs all under a year and a half that I'm real excited about.

Manuka oil is something that works well for an assortment of maladies, it comes from the New Zealand tea tree, it has been used successfully on fungus, bacteria, scabies and even Antibiotic resistant staff, you can order it online, medical grade is best, dilute it with emu oil to make it go further and penetrate better
