Hyan...you are right...the younger you are it seems you can actually gain more experience beyond your years...I believe my biggest learning curve was between 8 and 15 or so...hunted dogs most every day and sometimes twice...I whooped and hollered, yipped and hissed and stalked along side my mutts...most of the time I hunted alone so when I stepped out from the house I swapped modes and became a predator along with the dogs...the few times I had someone with me I had to act normal...lol
The dogs hunted better when I was alone by how I led them...yes we all gain experience as we age...but never under estimate a youngster. ..

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog...
A hunting dog is born not made...
