Well deer season is finally over, and we got some cool weather and over four inches of rain, so my buddy called me up to make a run, there was a good amount of fresh sign, heard a dog bark and just as my buddy said he thought it was a deer, we heard squealing. He had a few cats and I had a few young dogs, for two it was their first hog, I'm pretty happy with the two bird bulls they are the black and white dogs, and the brown dog didn't do to bad either, he's 1/4 Dogo, 1/4 pit and 1/2 stag.                       https://vimeo.com/187933095

Sounds like it was a good run. Glad to hear about your dogs doing well for you.

I like how you packed out the meat on the dogs.

Ya sure beats carrying it! There are a lot of pigs in this area right now we're going to hit the neighbors parcel on Saturday

Wish I could have fit the whole video on looks like it was shortened

Liefal, are you way up near Yreka? Definitely steep country, it'll get you conditioned and in shape.

I'm near Ukiah, a bit further south but still pretty steep, lost a couple big boars last year cuz they bailed off the top and went straight down the mountain, one ran past me like a deer, looked like it was bounding over 15' at a time, we dropped down 2000' in elevation but it seemed like they don't leave much scent when they do that and it's dry, I called the dogs off cuz I didnt want to pack that sucker out, the dogs don't pack well in the brush

Ya I would never have believed a big boar could run like that, looked like he was 3' off the ground every jump, he smoked us, I set my running dog loose on him as he ran by but I was a few seconds late to react, those snaps never come off quick when you really need them too
