Long story short I've been hunting 3 times this year and one of those it rained on is all day and I have lost my best 2 dogs. Appears I lost my gyp, Maggie, to lepto possibly and my male dog,Eli, went out yesterday doing what he done best, baying hogs!! Luckily I crossed these 2 dogs last summer so I have some pups that'll be hitting the woods soon out of them. It's bad loosing a dog but when you loose the best you've been in the woods behind it's real tough! RIP Eli and Maggie!! Sure hope these pups carry on their tradition and hunting traits.

Thanks guys!! I've got a 15 month old gyp that's been doing real good so hopefully she'll keep it up and show the pups how it's done. Lost my 2 best in same day few years ago and I recovered so I'll bounce back. Just gonna take time and help from the good friends I have.

Yes it sure does!! I'll keep feeding this young gyp tracks and do the same with the pups once I can take them to the woods and hope they turn out. If they're half the dog Eli was they'd please a lot of people but he was one of a kind. I'm gonna try and keep his bloodline going because it seems to be a good un! Silent 1/2 plot 1/2 cat wh a dang good nose and tons of bottom is what we all look for in a dog. Neither him nor Maggie didn't mind ranging out. The hog I lost him to he'd ran around 4hrs and not sure the miles but a good bit but he finally pumped the wind outta the ol boar but hog got the best of him.
