Mike and Mathew invited us to hunt a place up around Franklin. It was some rough country and few rank boar hogs. Everything me and Casey carried up there got worked on a little. From the beginning Hank, whiskey, Joe, Cayenne and Wimp winded one while collaring up so we cut them loose and they bayed immediately beside the trailer. He left going about a mile and blowing through dogs, dumped the dogs over in another group. Headed to Joe and Wimp we sent a few more dogs down through the thicket. Taylor, Jett and June left out and within a few 100 yards June (14 month) started some more hogs. I think Casey and I caught 5 sows until finally they lined out a good boar hog. We sent sugar titts and she got scraped off, boar hog rolled back north a mile. We booked it over and got him caught. Regrouped and threw down Libby and Jed. Bayed a few more big boar hogs but they dumped us every time. Taylor, June and Cayenne made the whole day on the ground and are Dang sure getting some leg under them. Mathew and Mike were steady catching hogs while all this other was going on. We cleaned out 16 for a bunch of happy landowners.

4 old dogs, 3 pups first cast... a few less the sceond cast but some dogs carried over. More than most people but they work well because they are all independent.

Good to see you catching hogs again Tony! Read somewhere on the book of face that y'all made a good showing once again at a tourney and some guy was trying to talk chit and something about cheating... some people just can't believe it and have to see it to believe it. Good hogs bud!

i know people that hunt those contests  ........some of the places they hunt  is unreal with hogs .... feed lots  and bottoms with so many hogs  you can see em layed up in any little bit of brush ...... some of these places is not hunted until the competitons .......be really hard for an old pineywoods hunter  to compete unless they dropped the stringer to about 3 biggest hogs .......

You are correct. That's what made catching the 65 so special. They were just normal old spots that hadn't been hunted since before deer season.. 1200 acres, 1300, 700 and 400 acres. No feed lots or special place. But you are right most tournament spots are good places that haven't been hunted in a while.

Although we did win bumpers last year with a place that has been hunted regularly that year a good bit.
