Life long buddy been begging me to help him get his lady on a hog, so we were gonna make a few rounds on some country he had lined up. Well weather man had everyone scared so it fell through. I call one of my dairy farmers and he says yea come on. Ride out there and check the corn fields just before sun down, nothing out yet. So we tuck in across the road from the house and I put kate out and tim puts his Annie dog with her. South wind was settin up perfect so we ease around the north side of the patch of woods they usually bed in. Not long and I can see kate up ahead throwing her nose hard and she tucks in. Got a bark or 2 and Annie heads that way but the hog wasn't gonna stand. Took the dogs about 3/4 mile across the road and blew through a high fences orchard and dumped dogs. Picked em up and went right back to where they struck. Start roading into the back where it opens up just some cow pastures and mesquites. Kate sneaks off and I keep pushing Annie. Bout 5 minutes later Kate comes up barking about 800. Annie heads to her, ole sow Broke through a chest high field of Johnson grass and kate dog sucked her up and got her by the ear. Got about 70 yards sent the bulls to seal it up, walked up in there and seen it was a good sow. I got her legged and Claire got her first stick and did a fine job! Little high but double lunged her and she was dead in seconds, let her wipe the blood off on my shirt and she was shaking. I asked if she was alright she said "yeah, nervous but that was awesome" she's hooked and already wants to go again. claire with her first hog me and ole big nose Kate, Annie, and the Bulls. That blue brindle bulldog is super green. 2nd hog he's ever seen and I believe tim is fixing to have another goodun on his hands Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Was a fun hunt. We struck hogs 2 more times after that sow but coon hunters from weekend before I guess had them hogs keen on a dog and wouldn't take a bay for nothing. Gotta get a full set of dogs going and hunting together and we should have better luck here soon I hope
