Well I’ve been MIA for the last 5 months or so due to some stuff going on at home. And now I’m heading over to Afghanistan for a year. Sucks because I was eager to get back to hunting after getting another well started half brother to my pups that I was hoping would lead my team and teach them the ropes. Guess it will have to wait a while. Y’all keep tearing it up while I’m gone so I can check in sometimes and get the fever! Haha

Stay safe over there... there'll be plenty of hogs when you get back.

Will do! I’m gonna have about 2 months of leave when I get back so I’ll be fine tuning my team as soon as I’m back

Are you contracting or soldiering? Either way, take care, be safe and watch your 6. Im trying to get back over there myself, but as of now, my company has enough personnel in country, may try for another company that has the state dept contract doing counter drug and counter insurgency missions.

Soldier side. I’m going with 3rd ID. Was supposed to leave this Friday, but now it’s pushed back to the 19 or 22. I wouldn’t mind going with Dyncore though, they pay very good from what I’ve heard

Once you are out of the mil, IF you choose to go with dyncorp, go with DI, dyncorp international. They do pay better and take better care of their people. Their DIFZ, dyncorp free zone is based out of dubia and the pay is chit and they treat you like number, not a person. I made unknowing mistake of working for them. My first paycheck didnt show up, the idiots in finance screwed my routing number up, even after i handed them a voided check. I inquired, they admitted they made the mistake, along with 18 others, 6 of those were new as i was, the rest had been in country for months before, a couple had a few more months left before their 1yr contract was up. The office told us to "wait until the next pay period" (1 month) and they would have the problem fixed and back pay us. I told them to fix it now and several mentioned lawyers and we were paid 3 days later.
But, depending what you are looking for and what your MOS is, dyncorp may not have the contract any longer. The state dept aviation jobs are now being taken over by AAR, so a new company with maybe lesser requirements to get hired on. DI wants 5 yrs a&p time, aswhere when i got my a&p, it was 3 yrs. But hopefully i can finish up my commercial heli cert this fall/winter and depending how bad a paticular company needs pilots or mechs, i'll try and get on as a pilot and mech, flying off of a tuna boat in the south pacific.

I gotcha. I’m a tango. I looked at their openings a few months ago and they had 1 in Iraq and 2 in Jordan
