We had a great week treeing about 10 bear and harvesting 4. We killed a 207#, a 340#, 368#, and a 440#. We treed several 80-120# bear that we treed n freed. I was lucky enough to harvest the 340# bear. Dogs bayed him several times and once we were within 100 yards but he smelled us and broke. Finally after 1 hour and 45 minutes, Jonah n I were able to get in there and I killed him on the ground. I will say a 45/70 will sure flatten a bear. We had great dog work and my two buddies Dan and Jonah Place went above and beyond to show Charlie and I a good time. Charlie Gaines(my hog hunting buddy) had just had open heart surgery 5 wks before. Dan shot a nice 440# bear on the ground. A great week of dog running.

Thanks everybody. Judge & Rough Curs, those are the dreaded Buckskin Plotts. Been in the breed since the beginning. UKC will not register them but AKC will. Go figger. We ran bear everyday but one & that day we were determined to put down on a big track. Lost my good Jack dog up there so that sucked but everything else was good.

Rough Curs, They were at several trees, I just did not get pics. of them. They tree very well just like their brindle counterparts.

Do you have a picture of Jack. And how do the buckskin plots do, just like the rest of them are any different?

Thanks Goose. Actually your litter is the next to the last litter. I had forgotten about Big Game Joe on here. He brought to gyps in  & bred one of them to Jack & one of them to Hank. How are those pups looking?

Makes me feel better, I was starting to wonder if I didn't have a yard of black widows, last two gyps I bred to off the yard died, one bit by a snake and the other busted up by a hog, they are looking good , 3 weeks old and all over the place...

Meant to say last two gyps I bred to males off my yard died and then you told me about Jack and he would've been the third male to a third different female and I was starting to worry if there wasn't somebody with a voodoo of some sort on me lol...
