Saw in the news about some hog hunters getting lost on the Trinity river two nights ago rescued by helicopter. Anyone know them?

I just read the story 7 grown men and they had to call for help because 4 of them waded and got stuck on a island going after a hog they shot lol.Man they should've just went ahead and castrated them fellas upon rescue maybe I am missing something but I ain't calling for help unless I'm bleeding to death and 7 grown men should be able to get themselves out of any predicament they get themselves into jmo like I said maybe I missed something lol

I read a story about that this morning. Said 4 men and dogs. Do these guys not have GPS or a compass? I agree With cracker, only call for help if someone is injured. That sounds like a lot of wasted resources to me. Maybe there where circumstances the article didn't mention.

I learned don't go in the water long time ago and I won't never go in there unless the dogs are standing up

I have hunted that exact spot and you have to be pretty silly to get lost there

Judge, how far is it to the levee there, around two hundred yards from the river bank, if that much?

Depends exactly where your at but I don't think the deepest spots are over 800 yards I mean worst case that's 30 min walk if it's crazy thick some spots are kinda open some ain't. But heck you can see the lights from down In there and you can hear the road trucks come down thru there all night lol. Heck I have walked and drove that levy enough to know that gate to road and levy to river ain't that far they must have just been going in circles lol

One of the guys almost "drowned" is why they had to call for help...

You better be a good swimmer to cross that nasty trash infested river.
