Thank y’all...

Red nose, yes the colors are unique for plotts from what I have seen which aren’t that many...I made many calls and talked to quite a few folks and I was told Kamphouse were good dogs and the reds are produced just as often as brindles...I already new about the Cajun plotts from on here but folks recommended the Cajun plotts on a regular basis while making all those phone calls...

Thanks Mike...it was a pleasure to meet you... I am glad Mike (Big Game Joe) took me over...you have some really nice looking dogs and a beautiful home place and setup for the dogs..

I had already bought Little Jack from BG Joe on account I had the Two Kamphouse females coming...I sure don’t need three females in heat at the same time where I live...lol
After buying little Jack we went to your place...we then were walking around and you telling us about each dog...and towards the end you said...and that pup over here..I predict he will be one of my better dogs if he lives long enough or something to that effect...I liked his look and dark slick coat...

Right before I left I asked about breeding to one of your dogs and you said no problem...that got me to thinking...on the way back to BGJOE’s house I asked about that pup named John and about his breeding and if he had Bosch in the pedigree and he said...oh yea...top and bottom...so that kept me a thinking...by this time I was having second thoughts about little jack...not because of him but because of what I could do down the road...

I left BGJoe’s house with lil Jack and drove about 25 miles in the snow towards home...and I decided it might sound wishy washy of me but I made my decision and pulled off the road and proceeded to calling BGJoe and ask if I could exchange the pup for a female...he was gracious enough to say no problem and I drove back and picked out Cajun Queen...it was a win win because he wanted to keep little jack anyway and I was feeling great about the new deal...my plan is to hopefully breed her to John one day and have Bosch top and bottom on the sire and dam and in the pups...all I really know about Bosch is what BGJ says about him and what he was sold for and of course you said that Deacon is a spit image of Bosch and I like everything about Deacon, color, build and size...and BGJ thinks highly of him...

Bosco is the name of the dog. Stupid auto correct on my ph. made it Bosch. Anyway John has a long ways to go but he has shown a lot of talent at a early age & hopefully he lives long enough to prove himself. I do plan on running him in a vest.

Ok...BGJ was talking about Bosco but when you replied with Bosch I had to go with it...Bosco is a good fitting name for a good dog...

The buckskin colored Plotts aren't really that rare. They have been a source of controversy within the breed as long as its been a registered breed. Currently, you cannot register a buckskin Plott. From what I've heard, the Kamphouse dogs throw a lot of buckskin. I believe that's part of the reason all the dogs are grade. I've never hunted behind any Kamphouse dogs but hear they are dang nice dogs.
Nice set of pups Rueben. Hope they work out for ya.

Jmesonp1, the buckskin Plotts can not be registered with UKC, but can be registered within AKC rules. Also the Kamphouse Plotts are not registered because they are not pure Plott. They originally were pure Plott, but were crossed with other hound breeds to create the Kamphouse bloodline. Not to say that they are not good dogs, just that they are not registered due to the crossing. They are used for bear hunting and coyote during the winter with success, according to the Kamphouse family.

Dang, Those pups done ripped the head off that hog. Good thing you started with 1/2 Plotts to prepare you when you got to the real deal. lol JK of course & they look good. What are you feeding them?

Thanks...Diamond puppy food in the 40 pound bag and at about 6 months of age I blend it with sportsmix 24/20 for a few months to keep the expense down and then put them on straight sportsmix...

I chose plotts because I heard they were the closest thing to the mt curs which makes them multitalented...lol
