Started the year off right, buddy was rolling through town coming back from a little business trip and wanted to make a run, called another friend of mine who wanted to go and offered up his place that usually holds hogs pretty good. We rolled out and put dogs down about 2, right off the back Sketch and Sloan roll out and strike a big group, hogs tried that running stuff but they weren't having it, they got bayed, we shot 2 off it and they caught a 3rd when they heard the gun go off. They rolled over and tried like hell to line another out but couldn't do it, we went around to top side of the place and was roaring them down a fresh fence line and the caught wind of another hog, few barks and they hung him. Hunt them through the rest of the place and no luck. Decide to get in the truck and road then all the way back to buddies truck parked at the highway. About 3/4 way up they take a track and strike, took about 20 minutes of work in the same thicket to finally get a good bay going. We got in there, burned a small boar down and dogs took the bigger boar and it just got too late and dark and we had to call them off eventually. Good day, good friends, and good dogs.

It was indeed a good hunt. Finally got to prove to my 2 running buddies I wasn't lying when I said they do really well for me, for some reason more often than not if I have more than one other person or any other strange dogs on the ground with them they do not put on the showing I am used to. From now till march is tryouts for these 2. They should both come in season around then and I plan to breed the better of the 2. Sketch is out of some catahoula blood I really like and she's the 2nd pup off the sire to produce hogs for me. Sloan is out of some registered wright dogs and she is making strides compared to when I got her.

Haven't carried her. She's got a lot of training to be done around the house handle wise and I need to get her catching good in controlled situations before I take her. The curs will catch if they're feeling froggy or if the hog really wants to fight and they think they can handle him.

Thank you sire. Here and there I do, it's a process. I'm a lot more serious about my dogs than most anyone I've met my age. The payoff is worth it in the end to me and I just flat enjoy doing this thing
